My whole life, I have been fascinated by the human experience and the power of connectedness and community. Looking back, I see the deep respect and wonder for each individual human at the core of all my pursuits.

Chapter 1: Photography and Teaching
I started a photographic practice in high school, thinking about our public vs. private personas as I printed portraits of classmates. When I studied art history, film and religion at Bowdoin College, I made space for interests in history, visual communication, and documentary projects.
After earning an MFA at Mass College of Art I taught personal documentary and photography in colleges and other contexts for many years before pivoting to program development, delivery and administration.

Chapter 2: Nonprofit and Community and Arts Programming

There my focus shifted slightly to supporting those new to teaching in the arts, and to the dynamics of teams in work environments.

Chapter 3: Admissions
About 15 years ago, I became an admissions evaluator for Williams College and got to delve deeply into the admissions process, as well as the widely diverse and unique lives and goals of applicants.

Chapter 4: Human Resources
Now also embedded in higher ed Human Resources, I have been advising and supporting individuals who are in dual career lifecycles. Career advising,
